LITTLE STARS FAQ'S & USEFUL INFORMATION

BAD WEATHER
City Kids follows advice from the Education Bureau regarding the suspension of classes during inclement weather. You are advised to check the current situation before leaving home by visiting the Education Bureau website  as well as the Hong Kong Observatory website.

As a general guideline only, the following arrangements apply:

RAINSTORM WARNINGS
Amber: School will be opened and running as usual
Red: If hoisted before school, classes will be cancelled. If hoisted during school hours, sessions will continue to the end. Parents can pick up their children early if they wish to do so.  Parents will be notified via email and WhatsApp about bus arrangements.
Black: If hoisted before school, classes will be cancelled. If hoisted during school hours, sessions will continue to the end. Parents can pick up their children early if they wish to do so. Buses will be suspended. Parents need to make alternative pickup arrangements.

TROPICAL CYCLONES/TYPHOONS
Signal No. 1: School will be opened and running as usual
Signal No. 3 or higher:  School will be closed. Parents of afternoon sessions should check the Education Bureau website at 11:30am to check if afternoon classes will be suspended.
Signal No. 3 is hoisted during school hours: school stays open until the end of the session. Buses run as usual. Parents can come to collect the students if they wish.
Signal No. 8 or higher is hoisted during school hours: parents have to pick up their children as soon as possible and when safety practical. Buses will be suspended. Parents need to make alternative pickup arrangements.

AIR POLLUTION INDEX (API)
Children spend a large proportion of their time at City Kids outside. If your child suffers from any respiratory condition, you may wish to consider keeping them at home when the API at general stations is “very high” or “extreme”. Please note our zoning is Central/Western. For current API levels, please visit the Environmental Protection Department website.
HEALTH & HYGIENE
To minimise the spread of infectious illnesses amongst children, we ask that all children and adults attending the school pay attention to personal hygiene.  Children who have a fever or show any signs of illness should not attend school.  Please contact us if your child contracts an infectious illness so we can monitor the situation and take any appropriate action if necessary.

Please refer to our Little Stars Health Guidelines HERE.

For more information on infectious illness please visit the Centre for Health Protection website.
PARKING
There are a limited number of car parking spaces available for City Kids parents to use at the front of the building.
