​As a small non-profit school we rely on the involvement of parents to help us succeed. This is the foundation upon which City Kids began many decades ago and a tradition that continues today with our strong parent community.

We strive to keep our fees low and this is only achievable with the support of our parents. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved.

PARENT BOARD


City Kids is governed by a Board elected from our parent community.  Their role sees them support the leadership and teaching teams in achieving the operations, philosophy and vision of the school.

FUNDRAISING & SOCIAL COMMITTEE


​City Kids has a dedicated Fundraising & Social Committee to help raise money to support our non-profit school and arrange fun social events for our parents and students.  

All funds raised are used towards improving the school. We encourage all City Kids families to actively support our fundraising and social activities.

HOW CAN YOU HELP


DUTY PARENTS
Duty parents are a fundamental part of City Kids and we offer 5 morning and 5 afternoon sessions per week each school term. During a session you will assist in all 3 pre-school classes, as well as in the office preparing craft materials or other assistance the teachers may need.  There is also a small amount of time in the Library helping to keep it organised.  Just one session per week is a huge help for us!  It is however a commitment and once you sign up we do rely on you to show up each week as teachers plan their lessons accordingly. GUEST READERS
Sign up to be a guest reader in your child's class.  Schedules are posted on the doors of the classrooms at the beginning of each term.

LIBRARY HELPERS
Our wonderful little library needs lots of care and a few helpers each year to ensure it runs smoothly, from covering new books, updating the catalogue or helping to keep it tidy.  If you can spare a little time please email the Office Manager.

WORKING BEES
The beautiful building we call home is very old and as part of our lease we are responsible for its upkeep to a very high standard.  Occasionally we form a working bee of parents to do small jobs around the school to help keep our maintenance costs low.

PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE
If you have a profession or skill and could spare some time do let us know. Legal, HR, Accounting and Finance, IT, Marketing and Graphic Design are just some of the areas we regularly need assistance with.

MONEY DONATION
If you wish to donate money towards library books, classroom resources or special projects, please let us know by email.
